Is your child:
easily distracted?
anxious?
overly sensitive?
overwhelmed by transitions?
impulsive?
too picky?
a troubled sleeper?
not enjoying life?
I’d love to talk to you about how neurofeedback can help.
Neurofeedback for kids can make a world of difference at home, at school, at sports, in life.
Being a kid can be very stressful.
So much to learn, not much power or control, everyone seems bigger and maybe better than you.
You have to tackle day-to-day issues but you don’t have a lot of experience.
There is such a need to be good, to be right, to be what everyone thinks you should be.
Being a kid with a learning difference or a kid with a high need to perform is really stressful. Those might not seem like the same struggle but the stress level is similar.
When you have a learning difference things feel really hard. You often feel not good enough. You feel always at least a couple steps behind everyone.
When you are a high achiever you are always striving to be better (or the best) and that is hard. You often don’t feel good enough. You want to do better, perform better, be better.
We all come into this world with our unique temperaments and sometimes that includes lots of sensitivities or anxieties. Some people are simply more sensitive and kids (and many adults!) haven’t yet learned the coping mechanisms to deal with this. This adds extra stress to the system making many things seem even harder.
Kids who train their brains with NeurOptimal feel calmer and more focused.
They are less reactive and more connected.
They are less sensitive and more flexible.
Young brains tend to respond very quickly to Neurofeedback. It’s amazing what can shift in just 10 sessions.
We all want the best for our kids. Investing in brain training at an early age can make a lifetime of difference.
Give the gift of a calm and flexible brain to your child.

“After a single session, our 11-year-old son stated that he felt calmer and more in control of his thoughts…and asked for more time with his brain trainer! His behaviors were noticeably different: calmer, more patient, less reactive, and more responsive. As a family, we have all trained and believe the benefits are far-reaching: reducing stress… Read more “Ron”

Frequently Asked Questions About Neurofeedback for Children
Does my child need a diagnosis to do brain training?
No! All brains benefit from NeurOptimal Neurofeedback. No diagnosis is necessary. The neurofeedback is dynamically generated from your brain’s activity, there is no “push” or forced direction that requires a diagnosis or QEEG brain mapping to set levels. It is not targeting any specific symptom but instead optimizing the overall brain function.
Are there any side effects from the Neurofeedback?
Feeling calm. Sleeping better. Feeling relaxed. Increased attention/focus. These are the side effects I hear most often! Because we are not pushing your brain to do anything it doesn’t want to do, there are no known unwanted side effects.
How many sessions will my child need?
Every brain is different so we can’t know exactly, but we have a lot of data to go on to make some generalizations (over 400 million hours of NeurOptimal sessions to go on!) Many people notice some nice benefits pretty quickly and with 10-12 session are feeling a shift. To make long-lasting changes 20-30 sessions can be needed. It is a learning process and once learned is not unlearned so as the sessions accumulate they are yours and never wasted.
My child doesn’t sit still very well, can they do neurofeedback?
The child doesn’t have to sit perfectly still for a session. In fact, I have clients who rock and pace around the room. The amp and sensors can clip on their clothing allowing some movement.
In-office I have lots of fidgets, puzzles, Duplos, and books for entertainment. The child can play a game on a tablet or device as long as the sound is down and they are listening to the music from the NeurOptimal system.
The NeurOptimal Neurofeedback tablets can also play a movie for the session. In this case, the soundtrack of the movie carries the feedback so they are getting the neurofeedback while watching 33 minutes of a movie. This can be a great motivator for a child who otherwise might not like the idea (though I more often find kids LOVE brain training!) I show my rental clients how to use this feature and if you think it’s needed in-office I can have that set up too.
